Straight Up receives award from the city of Ventura

On April 12, 2010, Straight Up Ventura County was awarded with a certificate of recognition and congratulation from the Mayor and City Council of the City of San Buenaventura.

Signed by Ventura Mayor Bill Fulton, the certificate states

Thank you for raising awareness about today’s trends in underage drinking, as well as educating our community and working together towards solutions for change.

Straight Up Program Diretor Katherine Kasmir and Straight up youth volunteers Patrick Carroll, Megan Lenington, Nate Nicoson, Caitlin Hurst, Ariana Cohen, Matthew Goodkin-Gold, Marissa Maas, Brandon Frieburg, and Elias Taylor were on hand to receive the award at a short ceremony on April 12, 2010. Ventura Mayor Bill Fulton presented the award.
