November Gratitude

November 30, 2016 3:18 pm Published by Leave your thoughts

Let’s use November and Thanksgiving as a launchpad toward utilizing grateful reflection in our every day lives. It’s a practice so intensely powerful it has the ability to change our entire life’s outlook. Why save it for one month or even one day of the year? Sure, we’re busy! By golly, we’ve got stuff to do! But how difficult really would it be to consider one positive aspect of our lives every day? Here’s a delightful puff piece from the HuffPo about the “Transformative Power of Gratitude”. Imagine the ripple effects of that kind of regular practice.

So here we go! The Straight Up team was more than willing to comply with a last minute text message begging to  exploit them for a blog post.

Katherine: I am thankful for my family, my home, my coworkers at Straight Up and for work that I can be passionate about.

Rachel: I’m thankful for an awesome family I don’t dread repeatedly migrating hundreds of miles to see this season – and I love that gluttonous quantities of food are the centerpiece of all these trips. I’m thankful for the Straight Up team’s unwavering tolerance of my incessant nagging and for a boss that literally said, “Sure! Have fun!” when I texted her last Monday morning about going on a roadtrip instead of working that day. The people in my life make it easy to be pumped about being here.

Roland: I’m thankful I just got a third job!

Evan: Not to be overly cheesy, but first and foremost I am thankful for all of my friends and family who make me so ecstatic to be me when I wake up in the morning. Along with that, I love my job here at Straight up, and I thoroughly enjoy the opportunity to work alongside my better half. And finally, my thanks would not be complete without mentioning the all powerful mental occupier known as Netflix.

Mitchell: I am thankful for good friends, a happy family and to live on a planet that’s just close enough to the sun for life to grow comfortably. I’m thankful to have a job where I can mostly work from home and do creative work while making a difference in my community. I’m so thankful to be a part of a great team of individuals whose enthusiasm is inspiring. Finally, I’m thankful for jalapeños and bacon on pizza.
