Last week, Frontier High School in Camarillo got a head start to having a #smartstart2school. Many of the ASB and service students were new to Frontier — so teacher Kim Dallape gathered them together for some activities before the school year started! Straight Up was there to lead team building and problem solving exercises, discussions about serious issues facing teens, and use interactive techniques to get to know each other — and have fun in the process!
“Some of the games that we played helped bring everyone closer together as friends, and as students,” says Steven, a senior at Frontier. Kimberly, another senior, adds that “lots of these students are new and They might be scared at first to come here,” she says. “If they meet new people, here, then they have familiar faces to come to so we can help them.”
