From the Community – comments on Circle K license revocation

Community activist Suz Montgomery stated her support for a recent action by the City of Ventura in her editorial in the Ventura County Star, Ventura revokes permit, sending a clear message. The City recently revoked the alcohol permit for the Mills Road Circle K, due to violations surrounding sales to minors.

Montgomery stated:

While local cops can arrest the clerk who makes the sale, very few if any consequences are doled out to the manager or business owner. Until now. The new sign on Circle K, posted this month by Ventura police, states: “No alcohol sales permitted,” a clear message to other operators.

We’re grateful to Ventura’s community of concerned neighbors, parents and other adults and youth — those that make their voices heard about their intolerance of the unacceptable social norms regarding alcohol sales. It’s up to all of us to make change!
