A popular, and potentially dangerous, habit among young people is mixing alcohol with caffeine-laden energy drinks. From the Red-Bull-with-vodka cocktail commonly ordered at bars, to energy drinks that are available with alcohol already added, consumption of these stimulant/depressant combos can result in a variety of health risks.

The fact that these drinks clearly display the content of alcohol are A DEAD GIVE AWAY. If these people are selling them to kids, they are knowingly doing it and would probably also just as quickly sell them a Bud Light or bottle of liquor.

“the more you know….”
She’s sooo right, I work in a store and I started to wonder why all these 4th graders were buying this stuff, so I’m glad I watched this because I had no idea that it had alcohol. But it did explain why all these drunk 8-9 year olds were all passed out behind my store.now I know better. Thanks

Joose is for 21+ year old people … period. Get joose’d up and have fun. Never drive drunk … We already know this. So call a cab, or bring a friend that can’t drink.

Of course they’re marketed toward teens, nobody starts drinking when they’re 21! It’s not the company’s fault, it’s the fault of the parent. I wish people would take responsibility for their own actions in this country.

Thanks for this info- definitely an area for parents to be aware of the risks.
Its unfortunate how parents are so unaware about their kids actions. Parents are so unaware of their kids health and so unaware of what they drink is effecting them. Not only is it irresponsible for parents to allow their kids to drink energy drinks at such an early age already, its even more unfortunate that some of these energy drinks now contain alcohol. When kids are exposed to energy drinks in general terms, they espose their kids to massive amounts of sugar, caffiene and large doses of vitamins, unfit for their young developing bodies. Now I work for a very popular coffee company and I always frown upon the parents that decide to order their kids coffee at 9 o clock at night to perk them up. Now that parents are allowing their kids to drink energy drinks, these kids are more easily able to get their hearts quicker to heart failure, leading towards an early death.
Now in response to the store clerk that did’nt know that they were selling alcoholic energy drinks- really? Stores should inform their employees of what they are selling in order to avoid this problem.
Insightful dialog. Hopefully more awareness and discussion will be generated on this urgent topic.
it is very unfortunate how parents could be so blind and not how thei cildren act in drinking. i think drinking is wrong, if your underaged. many kids thinks its so called “cool” to drink acholhol or energy drinks. being underaged and getting drunk is something that can change your life forever in a bad way. being responsible and being a leader may be the best thing for you. not knowing how much trouble you might encounter is totally up to you. parents should provide a safe and clean envirornment for their children. all parents should be aware of their childs actions and who they are going to hang out. just because your child seems like a perfect angel thta would never hang out or do the wrong choices, you should really ask and talk to them about drugs. BEING A SAFE AND RESPONSIBLE KID COULD MEAN THE WORLD TO YOUR PARENTS! make the right decisions.
