Ventura Planning Commission recently restored the liquor license for the Circle K located on Mills at Main in Ventura. This store, and its repeated offenses of selling alcohol to minors, has been the center of local controversy.
The Circle K, which lost its liquor license three months ago, won it back Tuesday, when the owners agreed to abide by new restrictions meant to reduce crime and public drunkenness and to stop sales to minors.
The Ventura Planning Commission voted unanimously to approve the license, setting conditions requiring the store to stop alcohol sales from midnight to 7 a.m.; have no floor displays of alcohol, to deter thefts; make no single-serving sales of beer, malt liquor or wine coolers; and train all employees on state liquor laws.
